This one has a story.  This was originally a piece of Latin American Tourist Street Art.   Talk about what you can do with artistic ability, particle board, scrap wood, and old potato sacks.   These artisans would use particle board and electric grinding tools to carve the scene in relief.  Then they would add the traditional colors and details using paint to complete the scene.  The frames were constructed with whatever wood they found lying around and the band inside the frame looks to be old potato sacks.  When we found this piece the particle board was starting to degrade, the frame was splintered, and it was on the verge of being lost.   In order to stabilize this piece we did a deep pour (front and back of resin).  This thing is good for another few hundred years.   

The deep resin finish highlights the high relief of the scene.  The ultra-high gloss finish is off-set by a gentle blue-green hue that gives the whole scene the feeling of being out of a dream.  It is a true delight to stare at.
